Hockey

The Ice Hockey season started off again in Swindon about a month ago, but because of my holiday to Switzerland, tonight was only the second one of the season that I've managed to get to. It was the Wildcats versus the Isle of Wight Raiders.

The final scoreline was 10-4 to the Cats, a welcome win, albeit expected - IOW's rink is tiny compared to Swindon, and when there's plenty of open space to play the puck, IOW seem to struggle. Shame really.

It was also really pleasing to see the effort that the council has put into renovating the rink. I'm not sure about the mustard yellow paint (was it on offer at B&Q?), but the new ice markings are great. Thumbs up also to getting rid of "MC" (Mouldy Cloth), and to the new lights. I just can't wait for the new score board and the goodies they have lined up to replace MC :)
