Really not smiling!
Submitted by Matt on Mon, 29/05/2006 - 08:42Well, I pay a foreign cheque into my bank on 6th May, and still to date, I haven't been credited for it, even though their website says that it will be credited in 5 days. Well, the reason why it hasn't been credited is that it's been lost. Yep, the bank lost my cheque. I've been promised that it will be credited on a photocopy, but promises don't get kept at my bank.
In fact, I wrote to them today to close my savings accounts - they're asking if something's upset me!
There is another way... :D

I'm not Smiling
Submitted by Matt on Tue, 09/05/2006 - 21:13Well, Smile the internet bank is really getting up my nose at the moment. They have been trying to enforce Chip and PIN on me (which after the Shell incident proves my theory right all along).
Back at the end of 2004/beginning of 2005, I was sent a Chip and PIN debit card by the bods at Smile. I duly refused and asked for a Chip and Signature card, which they refused, even though I get muddled with rarely used PIN numbers. Every excuse under the sun came from them why Chip and PIN was more secure, but hey, there ya go.
About three weeks, I needed to use my Credit card (a card that I had held onto rather than send back to them just for emergencies), and I went to change the PIN at a cash machine. I tried what I thought was the PIN, and after three attempts, my card was swallowed. I rang Smile to let them know, and they sent me a new card and a new PIN. Can I read the damn PIN? Can I heck! It's printed on a piece of cellophane in tiny dots. Apparently, I should be able to see the number in the dots, but no can do. I've now been issued with three PIN reminders and I still can't use my card. I'm disappointed, very disappointed.
